Dr. Carol Lynne D’Arcangelis has been an Assistant Professor in the Department of Gender Studies at Memorial University since 2013. She received her PhD from the University of Toronto in 2015. Since 2005, she has been a white settler ally member of No More Silence, a Toronto-based network dedicated to raising awareness about missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and Two-Spirit people across what is now called Canada.
Prior to her life as an academic, she worked throughout the 1990s in a variety of human rights and social justice organizations in Guatemala and El Salvador. She has published on Indigenous/non-Indigenous solidarity and white settler feminist self-reflexivity in several journals including Cultural Studies ↔ Critical Methodologies, Atlantis: A Women's Studies Journal, and Canadian Woman Studies. She currently has a manuscript under review with UBC Press. Last, but not least she is the proud mother of a 12-year-old who just entered junior high!
